This butterfly served as a reminder of easiness and vitality when I was afraid for my children and myself after fleeing from my mentally ill husband; it was so vulnerable and fragile, and it always flew along the same route I walked each day in that Spring a few years ago. It let me get very close, as if to show me it trusted me.
That was like a message to me, a message about trust in our lives.
Suddenly I knew deep inside myself that I would get up, and we three of us would move on to a better and safer future.
Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.
